Equip: Independence gives participants a simple mobile experience for staying connected to their schedule, goals, routines, documents, notes, announcements, messages, and other supports. The participant experience is designed to make the most important information easy to find from a phone.

š± Before you download
Equip: Independence is available only after your organization approves the new mobile app experience. An Equip account admin can request access by reaching out to the Equip team.
When you search the app store, choose the new Equip app with the green background.
The current Equip: Independence companion app has the old logo and will no longer be available after January 1, 2027.
ā¬ļø How to download Equip: Independence
Open the App Store on iPhone or iPad, or Google Play on Android.
Search for Equip: Independence.
Select the new Equip app with the green background.
Tap Get or Install.
Open the app and enter the email address connected to the participantās Equip account.
Follow the organizationās sign-in method.
Complete the setup prompts for notifications, location, and App Lock.
Participants can use the app without allowing notifications or location, but some features work best when they are enabled. Notifications help participants stay aware of messages and schedule changes. Location can support event check-ins and local weather guidance.

After sign-in, participants see a simplified version of Equip focused on their own information and next steps.
Home ā See a personal home screen with upcoming items and quick access to key tools.
Schedule ā View upcoming events and check in or check out when available.
Messages ā Read and send group messages when messaging is enabled.
Contacts ā View contacts when the directory is enabled.
Profile ā Review profile information and settings.
ā What participants can do in the app
View upcoming events from the Schedule tab.
Check in or check out of events when the event supports it.
Review goals and log progress.
Open routines and complete routine steps.
View pathways and see step progress when enrolled in a pathway.
Open documents shared with them.
Read notes shared with them.
Complete assessments assigned or available to them.
Read announcements from the organization.
Send and receive messages in groups when messaging is enabled.
Use the Equip Card for emergency contacts, selected documents, and important information.
Show a presence code so a team member can verify they are together when presence verification is enabled.
Check in with mood when Mood Navigator is enabled.

Confirm your organization has enabled Equip: Independence before asking participants to download it.
Encourage participants to allow notifications if they want reminders for messages and schedule changes.
Review the Home, Schedule, Equip Card, and Profile areas first. These are the most important starting points.
Move participants away from the old Equip: Independence companion app before January 1, 2027.
