Editing Discharge Reasons

Learn how to edit Discharge Reasons in Equip to update participant exit options and maintain accurate reporting for internal reviews and accreditation.

Discharge Reasons help document why a participant is set as inactive. Editing existing discharge reasons allows your organization to keep exit data accurate, consistent, and aligned with reporting and accreditation requirements.


βš™οΈ Open Account Settings

  • Click your profile photo in the top-right corner of any page

  • Select Account Settings from the dropdown menu


πŸ“‹ Go to Discharge Reason Settings

  • In the left-hand menu, locate the Data Properties section

  • Click Discharge Reasons

  • This opens your Discharge Reason Library


✏️ Edit a Discharge Reason

  • Locate the discharge reason you want to update

  • Click the context menu (three dots) on the right-hand side

  • Select Edit Discharge Reason


βœ… Save Your Changes

  • Update the name and disposition as needed

  • Click Update Discharge Reason to apply your changes

  • Updates will immediately reflect when setting participants as Inactive and in reporting
