Equip is designed to support a variety of organizational structures by offering distinct user roles, each with specific responsibilities. This guide provides a detailed overview of each role, explaining its function and how terminology adapts based on your account type.

Roles in Equip

Equip has four user roles, each with distinct responsibilities:

  1. Admin – Manages account settings, user permissions, and system configurations.

  2. Mentor/Supporter – Provides direct support and guidance to students/client.

  3. Mentor/Supporter with Web Access – Has the same responsibilities as a Mentor/Supporter but with additional web-based tools for reporting and documentation.

  4. Student/Client – The primary beneficiary of the program, using Equip to track progress and engage with support systems.

Role Functions and Responsibilities

Admin Role

Admins have full access to all features and settings in Equip. They are responsible for managing users, configuring system settings, and maintaining data security. Admins can create and assign roles, oversee reports, and ensure that the platform operates smoothly for all users

Student/Client Role

Students/Clients are the primary participants in a program. They use Equip to access assigned activities, communicate with their mentors or supporters, and track their progress. The terminology for this role varies based on the account type:

  • Program Accounts: Student

  • Family Accounts: Explorer

  • RLCs: Resident

  • CRPs: Client

Regardless of terminology, the function of this role remains the same: enabling individuals to actively engage with the platform and receive support.

Mentor/Supporter Role

Mentors/Supporters provide direct assistance and oversight to students/clients. They track progress, offer guidance, and support program participants in achieving their goals. In some account types, such as Family, RLC, and CRP, this role is referred to as Supporter, while in Program accounts, it is labeled as Mentor.

Adaptive Terminology in Equip

Equip dynamically adjusts role terminology based on the account type. This ensures that the language used in the platform aligns with the organization's framework, making it easier for users to navigate and understand their roles.

Key Benefits of Role-Based Access

  • Enhanced Clarity: Users see role names that align with their organization’s terminology.

  • Data Security: Access is structured to ensure sensitive information is only available to authorized users.

  • Operational Efficiency: Clearly defined roles help streamline workflows and promote effective collaboration.

Important Note

While the terms may change, the fundamental roles and permissions associated with each remain consistent across account types. This ensures that the core functionality of Equip remains stable and predictable, regardless of the terminology used.

By adapting to your preferred terminology, Equip aims to provide a more personalized and intuitive experience for all users, regardless of their organizational context.
