The Equip Card helps Participants stay safe and supported in the community by showing critical info when it’s needed most—like during interactions with police officers, bus drivers, or other public servants.
Admins can set up and manage the Equip Card from the Settings tab on a Participant’s profile.
🔧 How to Edit the Equip Card
Go to the participant’s profile
Click on the Settings tab
Scroll to Equip Card Settings
You’ll see the page shown below, where you can update the participant’s message, guardianship status, emergency contacts, and linked documents.
✏️ Add a Custom Message
Use this message to guide others on how to communicate effectively with the Participant. It will appear at the top of the Equip Card.
Example:
“Hi, I’m autistic. I may not respond right away, make eye contact, or follow instructions how you expect. I’m not trying to be difficult — I just need extra time and clear communication. Please speak calmly and directly. I can contact someone if needed by tapping Emergency Contacts below.”
✅ Keep it calm, respectful, and focused on safety and understanding.
👤 Guardianship
Self Guardianship: Toggle ON if the person is their own guardian.
Guardianship Comment: Use this to explain any exceptions or notes related to legal guardianship or medical permissions.
📞 Emergency Contacts
Click Edit Contacts to add or update contacts.
These appear as one-tap call buttons on the Equip Card.
Include key people like family members, case managers, or medical providers.

💾 Don't Forget to Save
