Employment Tracking access depends on whether the feature is enabled for the account and whether a user’s role allows them to view, create, edit, or delete employment-related records. These controls help teams manage who can work with employer and participant employment information.
⚙️ How It Works
Before a user can work with Employment Tracking, two things must be true:
Employment Tracking must be enabled for the account.
The user must have permission to access the relevant Employment Tracking actions.
Permissions may affect whether a user can see employment records, create new employers, add employment records, edit existing records, or delete records. If a user cannot see an employment area or complete an action, an account admin should review both feature access and role permissions.
✅ Benefits
Protect employment information — Limit access to users who need it for their role.
Control record changes — Manage who can create, update, or delete employer and employment records.
Support role-specific workflows — Give staff access to the employment information they need without overextending access.
Reduce troubleshooting time — Know what to check when a user cannot see or update employment information.
🔐 Common Access Checks
Employment tab is missing — Confirm Employment Tracking is enabled and the user has access to employment records.
Add Employer is missing — Confirm the user has permission to create employer records.
New Employment is missing — Confirm the user has permission to create employment records for that participant.
Edit options are missing — Confirm the user has edit permission for the relevant employer or employment record.
Delete options are missing — Confirm the user has delete permission for the relevant record type.
💡 Best Practices
Start troubleshooting access by confirming the feature is enabled for the account.
Review the user’s role if a button, tab, or action is missing.
Give create and edit permissions only to staff responsible for maintaining employment data.
Limit delete permissions to users who should be able to permanently remove records.
Contact Equip support if the feature is enabled and permissions look correct but access still does not appear as expected.
