Group Leaders have the ability to delete chats in the Equip mobile app. This can help manage group conversations and remove chats that are no longer relevant, disclose personal information, or do not need to remain visible. Chats can only be deleted from mobile and only by users assigned as a Group Leader.
🧑💼 Who Can Delete Chats
Only Group Leaders can delete chats.
Group Leaders must be assigned by an Admin using the web version of Equip.
Other users (Participants, Supporters, or non-leaders) cannot delete chats unless they sent it.
📱 How to Delete a Chat on Mobile
Open the Equip app.
Tap the Chat tab from the bottom navigation.
Find the chat you want to delete.
Press and hold on the chat thread.
Tap Delete when the option appears.
Once deleted, the chat is removed from your view and from the view of all participants in that chat.
Equip Tip: Deleted chats cannot be recovered. Only delete if you’re sure the conversation is no longer needed or contains sensitive content.
